I was thinking of purchasing the Advanced Technologies scope mount (Part ENF0141). It doesn't require gunsmithing, apparently..

Anyone go through the process and have any feedback on if it's a good idea or not?

There are no holes in my Enfield, it sat in a closet for decades (brand new). It's a N4 MK1

Thanks

I only have experience with the ATI mount once, for the No4Mk1; required some tinkering (and Locktite!).

The S&K mount gets more positive reviews though, should you have the choice.

If you plan on using it for hunting, I would advise giving your rig a good test run at the range, and check for anything coming loose as your day goes by.

Yes, a good rifle for moose. As with any rifle and calibre, work out what your effective range is and stick with it. Perfectly suitable ammunition is available from commercial manufacturers and suitable bullets are available for reloading - not as many choices as in more modern popular hunting calibres, but enough.

The ATI came loose on me !...never tried it with locktite tho.

I bought a No5 with an S&K mount , I don't know how much it was shot prior to my ownership but I've burned well over 200rd with no issues. Even with that little extra recoil the No5 has , the S&K has worked out very well.

The B-Square holds well too and I will shoot with confidence using it. The trick with the B-Square is to make sure that it has a solid contact where the rearsight pin goes through and replace the rearsight pin that comes with the mount , with a bolt/nut.
A Mk11 300/600 sight can also still be used with the B-Square

The ATI , S&K and the B-Square mounts all sit about the same height over the receiver and you might want a cheekpiece.
There are the traditional wood pieces that screw onto the butt , if you have trouble locating one , the leather Garand cheekpiece , turned and trained to sit high on the butt's comb works reasonably well too ....no real need for screws , looks good and is quite comfortable.

...works on a SKS as well

Winchester PowerPoint CXP3 -180gr , is a good moose load out of my rifle but that might change ( accuracy ) with a different rifle(s) and barrel wear.
Practice up , play'er safe and have a good time !

then there are my custom rails for the NO1 Mk3 and SHTLE rifles... however they are a drill and tap affair. The are compatable with all rifles already drilled and tapped for the weaver TO-1 dovetail rail. I'll have them availlable in January.... late for hunting season but...... check out this thread for some good pics of some modernized lee enfield dedicated deer guns recently reborn on my bench, including the cool camo  , i adding full custom work on these rifles to my gunsmithing services once my own hunting season is over.
