Hi everyone I got this Savage Lee Enfield a while back and this sling came with it. I know that the “C” with
the broad arrow in it is Canadian but aside from that I am no sling expert.
Is says 1942 so it makes sense to be on a no4 but again I’m hoping someone has the
Answers I don’t

Thanks!

Definitely not a rifle sling. As mentioned above it's most likely a '37 pattern brace strap - if you take it off the rifle, maybe take a photo of all the extra bits added onto it, never seen an example like it - although it may just be someones modifications...

Hi Mr. burns. It looks to me to be a canteen sling for the Pat 37 web equipment that has a couple of modifications
made to it on the lower end - 2 pieces added on for something. Your rifle has a Mk 2 fore end which is usually
associated with a rifle upgraded to a Mk 2 configuration. John

Quite sure it’s a brace cross strap. If you have one, you’ll find a spike bayonet will fit in those loops, though I’m not sure if that was their original intention.

It’s the strap for a field phone the little loops designate this, if it was a brace for the webbing it would have a single flat loop.

It's for field phones, the small loops hold a ground stake. It is not a 37 pattern shoulder strap.

Oh, and if you can find the ground stake keep it as they are quite rare today.
