I have a question for the Enfield experts. I have a 1909 BSA ShtLE mark 3 that I believe has the wrong front volley-sight dial plate. The sight plate is calibrated for 15-26 hundred yards. It does not appear to fit the stock quite right and I suspect it is from a p14. I think the proper sight plate is calibrated for 16-28 or something like that. Can anyone confirm this and if so does anyone know where I can find the right part. This would be greatly appreciated as everything else about this rifle seems to be correct.

SMLE plates were stamped LES for MkVI ctg and LES2 for MkVII ctg and were sighted to 2800.

OK, so this sight plate is definitely not right. Somebody has attempted to make this rifle look authentic but has installed the wrong part. Does anyone know where to get the correct part?

LES2 shows that the plate is graduated for the MkVII ctg. The LES2 plate would be on all variations of the SMLE MkI,II ,III or IV sighted for MlVII ctg.

There is no maker's mark on this dial sight plate. I had expected to find a US maker's mark since I suspect it is from a p14, but there is nothing.
