Hey all,

Sorry if this has been covered in the past but we all know how difficult the search function can be at times... Anyways, my question - who offers a stock duplication service in Canada that may have a No. 4 stock set on hand?

Cheers,

SeamusMac

You would be best to purchase a good used or unissed set. I've looked at duplication and found it not only pricey however a ton of work to fit the rifle afterwards. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the replies guys,

My primary concern with ordering stock sets is that I won't be able to find a complete set made entirely out of birch, which I should have mentioned in my original post. This will be a graduation present so I'm not overly concerned with the amount of final fitting work needed to make the stock fit. My father and I enjoy those sorts of projects so it will just add more personal value to the finished product ha ha ha.

@rrg_7: do you recall who was offering this service?

There was a buddy of Beater's who was going to crank out some forends, think it was RR in Sask. Not sure if that ever went anywhere.

Nobody much makes Enfield wood since you can still get new stuff with a little looking and tons of used stuff too.

The guy I was thinking of was "RR" in Sask.....I don't know if this went anywhere. If you need No1 or early wood there a source in the UK however it's very pricey. Are you looking for something specific. It would be easier to give advice. Ron

@cantom: Thanks for the tip, I'll follow up on it. Also, I'm going to keep my eye out for new or VG condition used wood that is close to what I'm looking for. We'll see what turns up eh?

@Greenfields: Agreed!!!

- The guy that was selling the Long Lee forend and handguard sets was Gary Baron of Montreal, QC. He stopped attending the Gunshows in Montreal and I was told he died a few years ago.

- I still have a set of these and a squeletal Enfield MKI action and a few parts that I wanted to put together, but I never got around to it. Someday I might bundle this stuff together and sell it off to someone he has time to play around with it.
