Remember all the annoying things about C9/Minimi, like the ammo belt has a tendency to slide off the tray? When the HK MG4 is around the corner, the Minimi ( also the 7.62 big brother Maximi) needs some updates to stay in the game. The MK3 conversion kit was actually announced awhile ago, but here are the real pictures.
First of all, you can now have a bipod folded to the back and a vertical grip in the right place at the same time. Not the offset to the side weirdo vertical grip/rail on the C9A2.
The feed tray now comes with two hooks and keep the belt on the tray, making reloading in off hand position possible without having the belt sliding off.
A lock on the charging handle, so it won't run on its own. Not a big deal, but a nice touch.
A useable adjustable buttstock with adjustable cheek riser, and hydraulic buffer. How luxurious.
Apparently there is no difference between the two gas regulator positions - the gas ports are both the size of "adverse" now. The rate of fire is automatically adjusted by the buffer.
