I was told when I bought this pistol that it was a English crane revolver it has British proof marks and no other markings the action looks like a 1870 Gasser . the cal appears to be 11mm Gasser I use 44 mag brass shortened and make a heeled bullet by taking a 45 colt bullet and running the bottom driving band into a .431 sizing die . any body got one in ther books?

DEZ, interesting piece sorry I can't offer any insights , your heeled bullet solution is brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

Now over to Dingus..........

Ya its got Gasser features no doubt.
The grip shape says Belgian as well.
Alot of Belgian guns were proofed in England so that isnt enough to rule out belgian Makers.
Thats a tough one.
Is there no proofs on the back of the Cylinder?
Are the British Proofs London Proof houses.

And a frame also coulda be Bought from Counet or Francotee or otheres by a British gun maker and finished in England.
The cylinder has that Euro look as well as the grip and that Lever on the side is a Gasser type Lever.

Hey its a Cool Revolver hows it shoot!
How do you like the Grip?

I found one in my book looks very simlar its called a Gasser tho! has a longer cylinder with diffrent stop notches.

I've not shot it that much to be honest about 60 rnds the grouping was not great was more fun to shoot cans of the fence. it has strange rifling very deep skinny groves cut in and very large lands not normal looking . some experimentation with bullets and black powder loads is going to be needed. no proofs on the back of the cylinder

David my guess is its a Antique Chair the guns sitting on the seat!
I love stuff like that :)

I could be wrong of course maby a back pack of some type.
