Having issues aligning/sighting my repro scoped mosin. Iron sights this rifle seems accurate. The dials are a bit different and the instructions are Russian. Can someone link a sight with how to? Thanks

Also the scope is of set to the side I am unsure what variable this adds to zeroing

Pretty simple: zero the scope, undo the screws, rotate dial until it reads the actual range, tighten screws. Windage: same except put scale to zero and retighten after zeroing.

If you need to collimate the scope mount to the rifle barrel that's a different matter.

But do I zeor the scope to the measurement distance of the scope such as sighting a top mounted scope which sits 1 to 3 inches above the barrel. Then adjust the dials to the red dot of the laser bore sight I'm using to start. I'm having trouble grasping the idea of the offset scope where the glass will be perpendicular to which spot I start with for zero.

You can get an easier start it you bore sight by eye and match the grinding of the mount to line up the cross hairs with the iron sights at a minimum of say 50yds.
So long as the irons sight themselves are sighted in.
Laser bore sighters are useless (IMHO) on an offset scope.

i did not grind anything yet, my iron sight match up on the lowest mark with the red dot from my bore sight at 25ft (longest stretch hall in my house) scope crosshairs seem to match up pretty well. I did not unscrew the side screws to reset the scope as I don't want to monkey with much till I get this thing consistently hitting paper and I know it will hold a mark.

Then at it with the rasp and locktight.
