I have a Remington 7600 with the factory engraving (might be etching, lazer cut etc) on both sides of the receiver (deer on one side, bears on the other). I am thinking of treating myself to having the engraving gold filled for Christmas. Does anyone know who could do such work in the GTA or estimate a cost? One person I spoke to thought gold leaf could be epoxied in the grooves but was otherwise unsure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think what you will be wanting to do is Gold Inlaying. The only person that I knew that did this has since passed away, her name was Heidi Hiptmayer from Eastman Quebec, her husband still does custom work but I don't think he does any metal engraving etc.

Engraving- Gold Filled

Thanks to everyone for suggestions. I went to a goldsmith in North Bay ON without much luck. I liked the idea of the lacquer stik from Brownells and checked an older catalog. On the same page, there was something called a Gold Lode Gold Inlay Kit which appears to be some type of liguid 23KT gold which is "quickly and easily inlaid into your engraving or stamped letters". For $18.00 it seemed worth a try. I ordered a similar product from Midway and should have it by Christmas. If I get a digital camera for Christmas, I will post some before and after shots as suggested. Thanks aqain.
