I'm wondering if there is anyone in Canada that does engraving on small firearm parts. I'm not looking for pictures or scene to be done, I just want a simple patter around the borders of a few parts like a grip cap, the bottom of a mag and a bolt handle, it could even be a cross between engraving/dimpling a nice pattern, I just want something to add a little flair to my Lee speed project similar to what would have been done on them in the 1890's

Thanks
Evan

There was an engraved Lee Speed in a recent thread that might give you some ideas. I know it piqued my interest. Get in touch with Oskar. He regularly works with at least one very good Canadian engraver. I can't recall his name, but seem to recall him being in Quebec.

thanks for the link sean69, looking at the web page, he seems to be well above the skill level I was looking for but the work he does in amazing. I may still contact him and see if he would be interested

B_noser, I just searched through the "hunting and sporting arms", "antiques" and "millsurplus" forms for lee speed threads but didn't see the thread you were speaking of. I have been emailing Oskar over the last few weeks, ill ask him about the engraver when I Email him back today. Thanks

He is actually very reasonable in the $$ department - I've had him do mostly lettering but a couple other little touches here and there. there is some stuff scattered throughout my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CORi0JiJVQq/

just to update this thread, I got in contact with cgn member ScarHeart, (he did the engraving on that 1911 on the first page) to do the engraving on my parts.

if anyone else is looking to have some engraving done, his contact info is here https://oldguns.ca/restoration

that link also contains contacts to a guy who CCH and a guy who makes rifle stocks and one who does custom leather work

turns out 3 of the 4 on that link plus Chris Dawe will be working on my classic sporting rifle build.
