I asked Casey at Tacpro as he is a licensed Mesa Tactical dealer and apparently these are illegal to get imported separately as they can be used on rifle and shotgun???? I think you have to buy the whole stock kit. Anyone else have any input on this?

What is the whole stock kit and where do I get one?

Last time I checked Casey at www.tacpro.com had a stock with the enidine buffer in stock for the Mossber 500/590 for just over $300. Right now his site just shows one for the 870 without the enidine buffer tube. Better to just get in touch with him. He posts here under Arwen Ace. I bought one from Dave's Surplus for my Mossberg 590 but it didn't have the enidine tube in it so I wanted to get it after the fact and I am having issues.

Are you saying we can't even buy the whole stock kit including the enidine tube anymore or just the enidine tube on its own?

Don't know about the whole stock kit. I couldn't get a hold of anyone at tacpro. Also, Brownells seems to say they are not state department controlled, so all you would need to do is apply for an export permit due to the fact that it is over $100 US in value.

This is how the Mesa Tactical stock looks on a shotgun. Great kit. You can buy it with or without the recoil reducing enidine buffer tube. It looks exactly the same with or without.

To clarify.... Mesa can export the Enidine buffer if it is in a kit for a shotgun. They cannot export it by itself because it is not specific to shotguns. This is the rule that Mesa Tactical has to play by.

The US has some strange laws and so do we.

Recoil reduction. And a more attractive alternative to the the Knoxx :D.

God that Knoxx stock is fugly.

How can Brownells export them then? They told me today that it is not state department controlled. Not saying you're wrong, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this. It's either on the "list" or it isn't.

You cant use the Enidine shotgun buffer on a AR 15, it is specific to shotguns. The one for AR 15s is like a standard AR buffer, it still needs the buffer spring to work.

Yes but you can use it on bolt rifles and other semi-autos. That's why he said it was not specific to shotguns.

Ya bolt action rifles that have a AR 15 stock adaptor with threads for it. I guess that makes it useable on other firearms but why this matters doesnt make much sense.
