Must be shot by the END of October :)

This is all based on the honor system. In doing this we trust that the score you provide with us is scored properly, and is shot at the correct distance.

You may post a picture of the target if you would like, you do not have to though.

50 yard unlimited target:
https://home.comcast.net/~t_j_walker/Targets/usbr85x11.pdf

Print off two targets. It is my recommendation that if you have any cardstock or photo-paper that you print it off on that. Fire 1 shots at each bull (24 shots in all) and fire 1 additional shot at one of the bulls to bring the total of shots to 25. If you miss the bull (but still get on paper), count shot as a “0”.

To score an X, the shot must completely covering the inside 10 ring. This will make for a maximum score of 250-25x

If you can not tell what ring a shot touches, please count that shot as the lower of the two. If you have a scoring gauge, you may use it.

GENERAL RULES:
----------------------------------------------
1. From the front edge of the bench to the face of the target: 50 yards.

2. Weight: There is no limit on weight of the rifle or pistol.

3. Sights: Scopes may be used, there is not limit on scope power.

4. Triggers may be adjusted to a light pull, but must be safe.

5. Ammunition must be Rimfire: .22 Magnum, 17HM2 and .17 HMR are allowed.

6. Rests: Shoot over sandbags, shot bags, rice bags or any old bag. Use a tripod, bipod, a block of wood or a rock for your front rest. A bunny ear or rabbit ear sandbag is recommended for buttstock support. Shoot from a bench. Shoot prone with a sling or over sandbags. Shoot over a log or the hood of your pickup if you want. One piece rests are allowed. Rests must not be secured to the bench. If you can push the rifle forward after recoil, and the crosshairs are back on the aiming point, it is a “return to battery” rest, and return to battery rests are not allowed.

7. You may shoot more than one rifle each month: Not more that four targets per rifle.

8. Junior Shooters: The minimum age of a young person allowed in these competitions will be determined by the parent. A Junior shooter is a young persons who has not reached the age of 18. If your are a Junior: Type (Age 14): Or whatever your age, at the end of the first line of your score report.

9. If you have a screen name: Put that at the end of the first line: (RedNeck)

Format of score as follows:

any mods to the gun. Rest,

Not sure if I am the guinea pig for this match or not, but here is my score.
Tried a few different ammo types - Eley Target Rifle, Eley Club, Eley Practice, Lapua Target, PMC Scoremaster, Winchester T-22, and Federal bulk target - but the Dynapoints seemed to produce the best practice groups, so thats what I went with for my scored targets.

206 2X, Len, ON, leonardj
CIL / Anschutz 180, Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO scope, Winchester Dynapoints
Stock gun, Caldwell rest with Stoney Point front and rear bags
20* C, 13km breeze, from behind, at a slight L to R angle (7:00 to 1:00).

Far from the best day to be shooting for scores, but I did better than I had anticipated.

In the interest of saving my printer ink cartridge, I decided to try shooting 2 shots per bull, and for the final shot, select the target with the lowest score (shots farthest from the bull - in this case, a 7 and a 5) for a third shot on that target (marked with an "X" at the 12 o'clock position) - in this case, I scored a 10. If I ever get to where I am hitting consecutive 10's, I'll have to go to using 2 pages, 1 shot per bull.

My absolute best target was, of course, on one of my practice targets (pic below).

194, Len, ON, leonardj
Walther KKJ-T, Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO scope, Winchester Dynapoints
Stock gun, Caldwell rest with Stoney Point front and rear bags
19* C, 29km wind, gusting to 50km, coming head on.

180, Len, ON, leonardj
Walther KKJ-T, Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO scope, Eley Club
Stock gun, Caldwell rest with Stoney Point front and rear bags
19* C, 29km wind, gusting to 50km, coming head on.

173, Len, ON, leonardj
Walther KKJ-T, Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO scope, Eley Target Rifle
Stock gun, Caldwell rest with Stoney Point front and rear bags
19* C, 29km wind, gusting to 50km, coming head on.

Nice shootin' ya' young whipper-snapper - lol. Looks like I have some catching up to do if I'm going to be any competition for you.
Have there been more participants in this match and the 100 yd match in the past, or are these matches still fairly new?

There were a couple shooters last month (the matches just started last month), but a lot of guys get discourage shooting a .22 at 100 yards. It seems the 50 yard matches (and the new 25 yard match) is doing fairly well though.

Shooting the "USBR" target is a lot harder then it looks though. If you go over on rimfirecentral.com, a lot of guys on there shoot that target in the "online matches" forum. You can see the complete list of scores every month there. There are scores any where from about 160 to about 249 at 50 yards with guys shooting benchrest guns.

Not the best day for shooting for scores. Ran into Keith (Slash5) at the range, and he was kind enough to let me try some Eley Tenex ammo. The KKJ-M loved it - outshot the Dynapoints by a wide margin despite the lousy conditions today (nearly 40 points !!). Looks like I gotta' do an ammo run into the big city sometime soon.

218, Len, ON, leonardj
Walther KKJ-M, Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO scope, Eley Tenex
Stock gun, Caldwell rest with Stoney Point front and rear bags
17* C, quite windy, blowing R to L.

Nice score there Len

I am going to try to shoot a 50 yard unlimited score today (another one) and see if I can't do a bit better. Good wind bllowing today (around here anyway) so I don't expect the score to be real high.. But will see.

Well... I had a good day at the range. Unfortunately though, when I shot my 50 yard target I realized that it was actually about a 41 yard target :(. Thought I was doing preatty good though; until I noticed it was not 50. My final score was 241-6x or something like that; but I can't count it.

Still, a good day at the range :D

This looks like fun. I am going to give it a try next week if I have time before the hunting trip.

Do we print the targets onto an 8.5" x 11" sheet?

My Savage seems to be pretty accurate. It will be interesting to see how it compares to some of your rigs.
