Entering the precision rifle realm

i know its more than your looking for but savage makes a .338 LM (model number 11/111 LRH i think) and its a great rifle, cheep for the 338 platform and mine shoots one whole at 100 yards from the box, and almost as good at 200. i expect 300+ to be just as good. only downside is the cost of ammo

Honestly your best bet would be to sign up for the equipment exchange here. There are countless precision rigs with only a few hundred rounds through them in the $1000-$1500 price range.
