My Eotech site broke yesterday while at the range and I wondered if anyone else has had experience with them and warranties. The reticule suddenly moved after taking a shot and The inside has come loose. I bought this back in 2015 and not sure if they’ll help me out. I did submit a request for an RMA today and will post an update when I hear back from them

Update on this. Eotech responded to me after a few days and have offered to repair it for $250 plus shipping costs. I was hoping for a better offer but overall I’m happy they are standing behind it and willing to help me out. I’ll send it off on Tuesday and then post another update in the future when it comes back to me.

Just a normal day at the range. I probably only have 20 hours or less of total shooting time with this optic. Recently had it on my Tavor, fired a couple rounds and suddenly the reticle jumped to the left. I fired off a couple more rounds and then it just went dead. Most of my range time with this optic has been light bench shooting and some 3 gun events, nothing that should have resulted in this outcome IMO. I’m sure it’s just an outlier as these things would normally hold up to a lot more abuse than I’ll ever put it through. I would have preferred a discount on a new one just to save the hassle of sending it back and the inevitable long wait to get it back again but it’s better than nothing.

No vortex optics style warranty here eh? :(

Mine crapped out as well, the red dot became so dim that you can't see it outdoor even with new batteries. Emailed Eotech. They told me it's over 10 years old, warranty is expired, we don't service them anymore, have a good life. No offer to trade it in or a discount on a newer model.

I had three of the 500 series - two 552's and one 512. Sold them years ago and now have only one XPS-2 on my FX-9. I couldn't complain as they never let me down, but then again, I wasn't shooting them on a 12 gauge.

Just a quick update on my optic. Repairs were completed and the unit had been sent back to the service depot on December 7th. I paid a total of $282.50 and received the repaired item a few days later. Everything seems good again and I’m happy with the service provided on a 7yr old optic.

Thanks Eotech!

Hell I have the same one, better not crap the bed. Thought these were battle tested tough. For the price it should be limited lifetime warranty at least.

That’s not a very good deal…

There’s always going to be some quality issues that will be present in any manufacturing process. Would have been nice if it was free but for being 7 years old I’m alright with it. I was actually happy to not find other similar reported issues in the forum and expect it to perform as intended going forward.

I had the same happen to an XPS. EoTech would not do a thing for me. Took it apart (easy) and glued the mirror back in place. Actually works now.

That’s great you were able to fix it yourself but it’s hurtin Eotec wouldn’t offer assistance. I doubt I’ll ever buy from that company again. Too be honest I’m not overly impressed with the 512 anyways. I didn’t know the image would be slightly distorted. It’s not at all what I thought they would be. For what they cost, warranty should be better IMO.

When I was young and new to the AR scene I scrimped and saved to get one of those 5xx jobs for my Norinco AR. It was awesome! So cool, much battle proven, yadda yadda so on and so forth. It worked great until one day it just wouldn't turn on. Changed batteries, still wouldn't turn on. Emailed Eotech and they gave me some line about they only warranty products in Canada for the Military or some such BS. Made some calls, more emails and on and on and in the end I ended up with a really cool looking brick. Granted this was about 15 years ago so their warranty may have changed but that experience has really stopped me from buying any other EOtech product.

My 512 was always problematic, so when the buyback happened back whenever, I think 2015 or 16 off it went and got a decent cheque in the mail a couple months later. More than I paid for it anyways. It was a cool sight but I enjoy my elcan 3x much more.
