Hey guys I'm currently in the market for a sight. Right now it would just be used on my gsg-15 at the range but in the future I will put the sight on a more expensive gun and possibly use it for hunting. I might also want to get into competitions in the future. There's a sale going on at Bass pro shop in Vaughan and I can snag a eotech 512 for $430 which is $485 after tax. Someones selling a new in box vortex vmx-3t for $200 that I would wanna put on the eotech eventually. I can get a used vortex strikefire 2 and vmx-3t magnifier for $400. I can also get a vortex Sparc 2 used for $200. I'm really liking the eotech but the vortex strikefire and magnifier deal seems great. Im just not too sure about the 4 moa dot on the strikefire. What do you guys suggest?

For the same or less weight as a red dot and magnifier I bought the Burris AR332 it’s a 3x scope illuminated red or green and has some ballistic holdovers. It came with a Burris fast fire 3 red dot that sits on top.
It’s a great combo as it covers cqb all the way out to 500 meters. And it isn’t that heavy or expensive.

Eotech in a heart beat . Buy once , cry once and you'll likely never have to use the warranty . You're paying for 1 Eotech while you'll be paying for 3 Vortex . That's why their warranty is so good . You pay $200.00 for a $75.00 optic that you can return 3 times to get fixed .

I've been holding out for a sale on the holosun 510c, but with this sale I might have to cave and pick up an eotech. Not as many features, and not as fancy. But made in the U.S, and now being essentially the same price with the sale it seems prudent to pick up the thoroughly proven design (not to mention they look badass haha) I like red dots but the eotech reticle is worth it imo.

There is zero chance I would spend that kind of money on an aimpoint for just a red dot. So many other options out there now...

I would stay away from the Sparc 2. I had to return a couple of them. Issues were fuzzy dots and inconsistent increases in brightness when moving through the brightness levels. They eventually had to give me a Sparc AR because they couldn't find a Sparc 2 without some sort of defect.

Just get an Aimpoint. Yes, it'll cost you a couple of hundred bucks more but it's money well spent. Sparc is low quality junk. Eotech has well-known issues.
