Got an offer too good to pass up on an Eotech 552 with the battery-cover laser module over the weekend, and wanted some opinions about add-ons to get it set up for a Rockpile C8.
Right now I'm looking at:
>GG&G Accucam QD mount -- My C8 is probably going to spend a big chunk of its existence disassembled in a storage box when the GF's not in town, so a locking mount that'll quickly hold a consistent zero's kind of important.
>GG&G Scope Covers -- Kind of a no-brainer for lens protection, unless there's something else your guys favored. "Infidel" version was out because of the rampant Political Correctness Cancer in the brass, but would the "Front Toward Enemy" lens cover have been plausible?
Any other add-ons or retrofits I need other than a spare battery box and set of contacts? Also, do any of you guys who've owned or operated Eotechs have any little insider tips and tricks learned from experience to pass along? First thing out of the box Monday when it gets here it's getting a stem-to-stern, top-to-bottom inspection and then I'll be reaching out to Eotech to find out what if any retrofits are needed to bring it up to date.
