I have a Marlin 1895 GS and looking for sighting system as mentioned above that is primarily compact with low power magnification. I have a Leupold 1-5 with 30mm tube Ill. Its nice but I'm looking for something non-conventional from the regular scope configuration that is rugged and dependable. Looked at the Deltapoint yesterday. Very "cute" - extremely light with its magnesium body, but I'm not sure if its as heavy duty as I would like it to be.

Any suggestions? Help required,
 
I like the Elcan c79.

I accidentally dropped my rifle from the top bunk of a bunk-bed (maybe 2 meters) and the rifle landed on a hard concrete floor scope first. Nothing broke, loosened, cracked or scratched as far as I could tell. As far as I'm concerned, that is rugged. :D
 
EOtech will be high, probably rising your cheek-weld in a chin-weld.
Elcan is not really low-magnification. They don't make their red-dot since a few years.
Aimpoint or Trijicon Tripower are rugged red-dot that will serve you well and for long.
 
What you are looking for is something called an MRDS (Mini Red Dot Sight) Top Tier are Insight, Docter & RMR then it goes JPoint, Delta Point & Fast Fire II then it's bottom tier and way to many to list. If I was you I would look at the Fast Fire II with a picitiny protector. Buy far the best bang for your buck.
Prismatac has a set eye relief and low battery life. EoTech as stated will give you unproper check weld and aimpoint style red dots take to long to aquire the target on your rifle platform compared to reflex sight's like the above mentioned. Also if they can handel my Desert Eagle .50 Cal or my 12g shotgun I am sure your lever won't posse to much of an issue.
 
Thanks for the info. I've narrowed it down to Insight MRDS and the Trigicon RMR. These two sighting systems are what I'm looking for. Just have to pawn off my Leupold and will start checking around for a supplier in Canada.
