Would tha scope be an overkill for an Sks? I heard the scope was made for an m16, would it stand up to the extra kick of an Sks?

The Eotech G23 is not a scope, it is a 3X magnifier, which can be flipped over to the side for 1:1 vision, typically mated up to an Eotech Halosight.
Both the Eotech Halosight and G23 would easily stand up to SKS recoil.

The first scope I ever got on my sks lasted a few shots before it kept going off to the side with every shot, refusing to hold target. Leapers or something like it was called. The other one on the nagant didn't hold zero well either
