Eotech Holographic & Recoil

Depends which model of eotech you're putting on.
I used my 552 on my ar, 870 with no issues and at work on c7 and c9 with no issues. If you're really that worried then use a model with the battery running accross the front of the sight not down the length of it.

I have an Eotech EXPS on my AR, which has seen a number of rounds shot through it without any issues. But a .223 recoils much less than a 45-70!

However, considering these sights are mounted by the military guys on several platforms, including full auto weapons, which are treated fairly roughly, I would suspect they can take a fair bit of recoil/abuse.

Perhaps send an email to Eotech and ask them the question to confirm.

I saw eotech on 50cal browning machine guns...... That's not a scientific answer, but if it can handle the 50cal recoil, I think you are good to go. I don't think that the us army is putting single use holo sight on machine guns.

My old Eotech 552's gave up the ghost after 3-5 years of 12 gauge slug loads. (Not just hunting, a lot of rounds at the range for fun.)

Eotech took about a year to fix the first one before shipping it back. Currently I'm wrecking an Eotech XPS2-1, dunno how long she'll last but those holographic sights are a hoot.

Thanks guys.

Looking for maximum damage and rapid target acquisition. It's my constant companion in the bush as well as my general close bush hunting arm, and I got to play with an eotech a bit back and I was like damn, as the poster above said, these things are a hoot.
