Hey guys, I bought an Bushnell holosight xlp from a local store (used). I bought it for use on my shotgun. I mounted it and originally really liked it. I had it out last weekend and I noticed a dark spot (slightly larger than the reticle) when looking through the glass in the middle. I thought it was a smudge originally, however on closer inspection it seems physically be in the reticle itself. I took some pics to try to illustrate what I mean:
These were all taken on the same setting, by slightly changing the angle on the camera. As you can see the reticle really dims out and sort of distorts with the dark spot.
Where the dark spot is, seems to correspond with where the reticle is projected (I don't know the technical terminology so bear with me). Is this normal?
And on a higher brightness setting:
So anyway, is this normal? It seems quite distracting. Or am I just being picky? They said it will carry a 1 year warranty at through the store, so I'm wondering if I should be exchanging this for something else?
