Hey everyone does anyone own a Magnifier or used one? I've purchased an EOtech XPS and want to get some magnification for it... First and foremost are they worth the purchase?? Are there more then one brand that is compatable with EOtech that is worth it! Some answers would really help me guys, I've received the most success on this form so please don't move this post pls! Thx Jim

Thanks I'll look into that whenindoughtfixit, how much was that magnifier and is it 3x magnified... And does it come with a fixed mount that is at a perfect height for EOtech's? Sorry for all the questions!

I have the exps 3 and g33 magnifier. They work okay, I like it a lot for close range work. But the magnifier isn't the same as a good magnified scope. I often think that in order for me to get the most outta my tavor, I gotta switch to something else. For me the magnifier just isn't quite enough to make accurate shots at 150-200 yard yotes.

Hey rebearded1 how about 100 yards? Would you save the money and go with aless expensive (vortex) or what! It is a decision that is a little expensive. Are you selling yours?

The vortex vmx3 with the swing mount is a nice piece of kit. be aware of the extra weight you are adding though. Luckily it also has a QR.

Hey Czarface,

I had an Eotech G33 behind an Eotech XPS 3.0 on one of my AR's with a 10.5" barrel a few years ago.

Without the G33 I found the XPS was great from 10 to 50 yards, OK from 50 to 100 yards, but please keep in mind I have old eyes! At 100 yards I could keep the rounds onto the target, but found it tough to keep the rounds into the black centre rings.

Using the G33 I found I could keep the majority of the rounds into the black centre rings.
The G33 is a very clear optic, plus I found the centre dot and 65 moa ring were much clearer when using the G33, the pixel like appearance of the dot and ring were much sharper when using the 3X G33.

You already have an Eotech XPS, so if I were you I would keep an eye on the EE Optics section and see if you can pick up a nice used G33.
Some of the CGN sponsers carry Eotech products, so if you have enough $$$$ you could pick up a new one.

The nice thing I found was I could remove, or swing over to the side the G33 and use the 1:1 XPS for close up shooting (action range) then install or swing up the G33 for 100 yard fairly accurate shooting.

As rebearded1 said, a 1-4, or in my opinion, a 1-6, or 2.5-10 would offer much better accuracy. I installed a NF 2.5-10 X 24 on one of my AR's after I sold my Eotech setup. Now I'm back to a EXPS on one of my AR's and an ACOG TA31 on the other.

I am seriously thinking of getting a Tavor in the near future. If I get it, I am thinking I will either go with a 1X4 Elcan Spector, or a NF 1-4X24, or back to a NF 2.5-10X24(32) scope.

Hope this helps...................to confuse you more! LOL

It is an expensive decision, but I figured I wouldn't get full use outta my $2700 rifle without decent optics. And I like setup.

I haven't bench tested accuracy in a while, But last time I tried to reach out with the rifle I realized how important adjusting the brightness of your reticle is. Too bright and it seems to obscure the target. At 100 yards accuracy seems good enough to hit pop cans but If I were trying to get real tight groups, a greater magnification would be needed for me.

I am not looking to sell my setup yet, But I am keeping my eyes open for a 1-6x scope to try out.

I still love the Eotech EXPS3-0 / G33 combo, out to 100-150 it's great (really its the ammo and the operator that cause any problems), beyond 150 I'd like more magipnification but I'd likely grab a bigger gun.

Picked up the Vortex 3x magnifier from SFRC/The Ammo Source (site sponsor and good to deal with). Lines up perfect. It sure helps these older eyes when you stretch the shots. I'm glad I have a free float for-end as it's a bit crowded with a magpul backup rear sight.
