eotech magnifiers anybody tried them?

like the title says. i'm considering getting one of these there's a 3 X (looks a bit like the aimpoint one) and a 4x which is bulkier and $300 more. comments much appreciated.

I looked through one mounted behind an EOTech on a tricked-out M14s. I wasn't all that impressed with the optical quality, and I really didn't like the fact that the red dot was also magnified (should have been obvious, but I never thought about it before handling the thing).

However, the twist-type quick-release mounting system was very slick. I would love to have a similar option available for a low-power scope.

Ditto. Although there's now a Chinese clone for $30, and LaRue is/was selling cool mounts fitted with a surplus Hensoldt for almost nothing - i hope the Eotech quality is good enough to take the sting out of the price.
