EOTech mount: Picatinny or Weaver?

Hmm...I had to hide the little white box with the $499 price sticker on it..
Found it...there's a little hole in the styrofoam, but no screw. Oh well. I haven't had any issues with the thumb screw, so not a biggy.

The HEX and Thumbscrew work on the M-1913 Picatinny rail.
Unlike some rail mounts they simply lock by friction on the sides - they fit the "Weaver" Diemaco rail with either consequently they fit M1913 Colts as well.

As far as hunting "Weaver" mounts go -- dont count on it -- the mount is designed for the specific mounting shoulder or the M-1913 rail (of which the Diemaco non M-1913 receivers are more-or-less)

There is no specific Weaver rail dimension - it is a concept. Diemaco and the CF had a flattop - which branched out of the US Picatinny trials - before the US type classified the M-1913 rail - hence why Diemaco/CF flattops have another T slot on the reciever - while the M-1913 spec ones do not.

IF your mounting it on a AR you wont have a problem -- but like I said above dont count on the "cheaper" "Weaver" aftermarket rails - they may not have the neck height or the rail should to provide purchase.

I've been using the GG&G quick detach lever actuated mount on my Eotech. it works as long as there isn't too much difference between the picatinny outside dimensions. I had hoped to be able to move it between a Ruger Frontier, a Beretta Strom, a Mini-14 Rail mount and a cantilever mount on an 11-87 slug barrel. I found it impossible to get a setting that worked reasonably for all 4. So while the QD feature works well on the same base, my hopes of switching the sight easily between rifles have been dashed...

Call me a big dummy, but what are you talking about? I can;t visualize it? What T slot? In fairness I don;t have access to a Diemaco upper to compare to my Armalite or Colt flat top (which look the same)...
