So my eotech this year started to look dim in different areas and under bright conditions. A quick search online tells me that there's a nitrogen leak so the seals need replacing and nitrogen needs to be filled. Also, my research indicated most people paid about 80 to 100 bucks to get it fixed.

I just contacted eotech and they said it would cost 200 (presumably USD) to fix and for the export costs. In my research, it seems that L3 used to do the import/export through a dealer which would explain why my research had a lower cost but I wasn't given that option.

Anyone else have recent experiences? Do I have any other options? Do you guys think it's worth repairing?

For 200+ USD, I could just buy a holosun or put it towards a new sight.

I know that I should've returns my eotech when I could have but obviously its too late and that's not an option anymore..

I think Eotech have an 10 year warranty, you can just bring it back to the shop u bought it from and I’m sure they will help with the claim

I sent my 2012 unit back last year, only cost to me was shipping to them. Getting an RMA was simple and straight forward.

What's more BS is how they sold defective products for nearly ten years before getting caught. ALL Eotech sights prior to 2017 have multiple problems.

So what about after 2017? Are they solid? And the warranty is 10 years after 2017?

I have thought about getting an Eotech but am cagey for sure, is the only other holographic on the market the Vortex AMG? Its pretty new so durability won't have really been verified yet but at least Vortex has a solid warranty

No they are not good to go. They haven't solved most of the problems with their sights. The nature of using a laser/holographic design is the inherent problems like thermal drift, thermal parallax(yes it's different) and poor battery life. Holographic sights offer no advantage for 99% of shooters. The reduced/absent front side signature is a plus for MIL/LE using NOd's or expecting to engage people who use NOD's. The front side signature from an Aimpoint/Trijicon can be compensated for by using a flip cap or simply running with the optic off. The larger "FOV" is absolute BS. Shoot with both eyes open like you're supposed to with reddot sights and your FOV is UNLIMITED. Oh, the Eotech has a slight advantage if you're shooting with a gas mask on, they're slightly easier to get behind than a classic tube style reddot.

Please note that we have just begun to do some warranty repair work for EOTech this year, but will be expanding our capabilities as we go.

The first step is to fill out the paperwork on the EOTech website (posted above) for a service return. EOTech will then decide if it needs to be sent back to them for repair or to us.

Here’s and update on my situation with my EOTech...

As requested I filled the repair form. I was asked a proof of bill which I provided to EOTech . On the same day I got an answer from them saying that they would take care of my 512 unit as if it was still under warranty . 5 minutes later I got an email from the gravel agency asking me to send them my defective 512 .

So far I cannot complain with the situation . Great customer service .

Will let you guys know the final outcome .

Is there a reason why I wasn't given the option of sending it to gravel?

May be because they just begun warranty repair as of this year...You might whant to try again ?

Just a quick update on my situation. I got a diagnostic on my eotech the same day that Gravel got my package containing my 512. I was decided to replace the unit under the basic warranty. I am very happy with the final outcome. The Gravel staff (June) is very helpfull. I would recommand the Gravel Agency to anyone....

Got my tracking number this morning !

Thanks Again

I guess if you buy used off the EE you're hooped for warranty work if something goes tits up on an eotech since there won't be a receipt.
