Eotech Reticles

I notice the Eotech has two reticles. The standard 1 moa dot and the 1moa dot with 65 moa ring. I would like to know the advantages or disadvantages of one over the other from anyone who has them.

I haven't seen/used one with just the dot, is there a model in question that you are looking at?

The dot reticle is just that, a dot. The 65 moa reticle is a dot with a ring around it. It makes for a much faster acquisition.

In 3 gun matches for example if my target is in the circle I know I'll hit it. If it's centered in the circle I'll hit it dead centre.

If you want "precision" you still have the centre dot.
