eotech sights on a shotgun?

Hey. I'm thinking of getting an eotech sight for a remington 870. I would use it for target shooting and some occasional hunting.

Does anyone have experience with a setup like this? Does it work?

Soon as the clay get's in the circle I pull the trigger and clay dust goes every were.

Cool thanks. Which model do you have? I am thinking of putting a mesa tactical saddle rail on the gun and putting the sight on the rail.

Old Beatter 512 on a saddle Mesa 8 round shell holder. The fuds at my range laugh at me when I bring it out and ask me if I want a real shotgun. I always laugh because I use it primarly as my turkey gun. Some time's the laugh and tell me I am what I eat.

In my opinion putting heavy scopes on a shotgun invites mount failure. The recoil is severe enough to break the mounting screws over time. I have had better luck with smaller optics like the Docter Optik or mini Aimpoint. Of course this requires heavy usage to happen so if you shoot only occasionally you should be Ok with the EOTech.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm new to modifying but I have a few older ones that haven't seen the light of day in years so I'm thinking of doing stuff to them (get your minds out of the gutter).
Any reason (structurally) someone couldn't drill and tap their own recievers for mounts/rails?
(retired automechanic, so some experience)
