Hi
I have a weatherby at epps ellwood since january and they didn t receive my parts yet. They said it s cause by pandemic. Anyone have the same issue?

I'm in the photo/sports optic biz...been told by suppliers it's going to be a lean Christmas...some stuff on backorder til April/May.

Is this your 375 H&H that you are waiting on a new barrel for? It's going to be a long wait. Those barrels come from Howa in Japan and are very limited production in that caliber.

I think I saw this rifle at a former sponsors website earlier in the year for 50% off the retail price claiming to be unfired. I guess if it seems too good to be true it usually is.

do you really need several threads open for this?
just sayin'
maybe keep it ALL in your first, instead of opening a new one every few months?

It seems there is delays in manufacturing in many different industries and firearms manufacturing is one of them. The supply chain for a lot of products is very very strained and ison the brink of collapse. In my line of work my lead times for product is averaging 4-6 times longer or more than back in 2019. It's a hurry up and wait scenario for a lot of things. I'm sorry your in a predicament but I imagine Epps wants to fix it it and get it back to you as much as you want it back.

It’s only going to get worse, my wife and I bought a new freezer yesterday. The sales associate managed to get us the floor model as there would be no more until sometime in late December. He was also stating prices are going up in the new year and availability would be going down. Obviously not with everything, but delays and shortages may become the norm for the foreseeable future.

As others have stated , the supply chain is broken . Pay your money and roll the dice as to when it will be fixed . Lots of consumer items are going out of stock , even some new vehicles are getting in short supply .

If you arent satisfied by ATRS commenting in your other threads with zero skin in the game, what are you expecting from the rest of the forum? Unless you contact Weatherby themselves i doubt youre going to get more information, as they arent getting it themselves.

you havent replied in your own thread, now you are starting more? Majority of the posts in there are helpful. You could have options to get yourself shooting,

IF it is a factory Vanguard barrel you could be waiting for some time. we have been waiting for an extractor for a Vanguard for nearly a year now.
I am not sticking up for anyone, but getting parts from Wby is at best a painful experience.

Why not cancel the factory bbl and buy a custom bbl made here in Canada? I've had good luck with JC bbls.

You'll get a better bbl, faster.

^This^

I would add that I have used several IBI barrels and they have been top quality as well. All completed by epps in the three weeks.

Unless this is a warranty job in which case you’ll likely be waiting awhile.

why spend the money on a factory barrel replacement. get a custom barrel and go. Canada is the small market for guns, parts and components in the US. factory shut downs, shortage of materials due to COVID, change in US government is a change in policy usually which affects what can come across the border and when. maybe if you are nagging the dealer his time is better spent doing something else. if he has ordered and is waiting for the parts, it is out of his hands...

Why would you send your rifle in... before the barrel arrived at Epps?

I know of a new Mark V in 338 Lapua with broken bolt lugs has been there for a year now. Weatherby warranty is the s h i t s.
