Don't really have the option of "hands on" approach.
Any differences or opinions on the three brands.
Trying to set up a chest/ belt set up and want to ditch the old flaps I have.

I have Esstac short Kiwi 5.56 and pistol pouches and an HSGI belt.
The pouches are ultra fast, leave tons of room to get a solid grip on the mag but retain very tightly. Tighter than the fastmag, which i use and is also great. Not a ton of love for the HSGI taco, versatile but at the expense of good retention.
My HSGI belt is a bit on the heavy side, but is ultra comfy. The problem with the typical belt setup is you end up wearing three belts. One in your pants, and inner and an outer. With such a setup there's unneeded bulk and the possibility of equipment shifting around since the belt isn't really attached to you. If I was to do it all over again I'd get something like this

I'm a big less is more kind of guy, if your wearing a vest you should be shuffling mags to your main reload pouch on your belt from the chest anyways so you'd only need one AR pouch on the belt. Plus it stops the issues with shifting and wearing a third belt.
Feel free to pm me if you'd like some pics of how my junk is setup

I have had the HSGI wasatch. And I cannot say anything bad about it. It's durable. 4 trips to the sandbox durable! Can hold 12 standard AR mags with no problems, mags are held In place by a bungie that velcros inside of the pockets, removable if desired, accessing mags is quick and easy you can run plates if desired with it. You can put a camelbak in the back if desired and you can ad more pouches as the entire thing is covered with molle. I'd highly recommend giving it a look at least

I haven't run the others at all because this one worked well for what I wanted.

Velocity systems lightweight PC
Haley strategic d3cr chest rig - with extra insert if you want to hold up to 7 mags
Ronin tactics warrior or Senshi belt - depending on desired firmness
HTC low profile belt setup - holster, dual pistol mags, dual m4 mags, radio or utility, blow out kit

Expensive but you'll love this kit...

Tacos have the greatest versatility. AR, AK/VZ, and shotgun from the same pouch which i don't know of anything else on the market. Everything else is more single purpose/dedicated.

i've only tried the hsgi tacos but i've never found them wanting. They hold all my mags securely in both single and double stack with pistol mags also. I've done a few CQB events and they've run flawlessly. I liked them because I can run any AR mags/ AIA 308 in them without having to change a thing. The pistol tacos also let me run double-stack 9mm or single-stack 1911 or EDC knife or Tac flashlight securely, as needed. Not cheap and hard to find if you are picky about color.
