I saw this YT Short from The HuntingGearGuy and started looking into one of these bad boys

Everywhere I look, it's all sold out though...anyone have any idea where one might be able to pick one up in Canada without having to reach out to a US friend who will ship one to me?

My soft and sensitive (yet big and meaty) baby hands are slow to reload and I spend probably twice as much time struggling to finesse 9mm bullets into a 10rd mag as I do emptying it out on the range.

An UpLULA mag loader is also good but since it'd cost just a little bit more extra for S P E E D, I'm leaning towards the ETS one

I had bought a version of that loader off eBay (or similar place straight from Gwon-Zoo) a few years ago and it sits in a Rubbermaid collecting dust. Don't know if the "brand name" version is better, but visually it looks identical. I found it very stiff to use with aluminum ammo, slightly better with brass cased stuff. I only have a Glock 19x with factory mags and typically the first 6 or 7 rounds load then it kinda jams up. Takes quite the shove to get the last 3-4 rounds in, I'm not sure if it'd be better with different style magazines? I stick with the UpLula as it is also easier to pack to the range

I see you are in BC.... if you happen to be in the South East corner of the province I'll let you try it out for a few weeks to see if it's something you actually would use

meh I have both and the uplula is the one I use the most especially since I use bulk ammo out of a box or bucket. It is just as fast as the ETS actually. The ETS wins/works if you lube it right, but you have to have your ammo lined up in a plastic box for it to be faster. I also worry about the long term effect on the feed lips forcing ammo down the mag like that. I got mine of amazon. Price is about the same where ever you look.

Aww, I'm about as south west corner as you can get minus a half an hr drive to the ferries to get on the boat to Vancouver Island :(
I appreciate the thought though, and thank you for the insight! This is what I'm kinda hoping isn't the case with the "off-brand" ones but it sounds like factories just took the design and made cheaper ones that's now floating around Amazon or ebay so the quality will also be weird...

I did hear you have to kinda make sure the rail and the cam system's lubed right...from what I've heardd and seen in reviews, the feed lips are safe because it doesn't shove the ammo through but I'll need to see it for myself haha
I mainly use factory ammo so they're already lined up for me

I have the name brand version and have the exact same experience with mine loading Glock 17 magazines. I actually prefer the free loader Glock includes with their pistols over using the ETS product.

Ahh so it looks like it's a design flaw of the thing overall then...name brand or not
I guess that means it doesn't matter if I get the ETS one or not huh

I'll consider the UpLULA and play around to see what's best too

Mine is the name brand bought from Amazon. It does work, but you have to do it right or it will hang on the late rounds when the spring gets max tension. I also had a few soft blazer aluminum shells get dented using it when it jammed.

In my opinion I will be likely reloading mags at the range more than i will at home and the uplula is smaller to fit in the bag only has one part, and once you get the hang of it not a lot slower than the ETS loading the Canadian max 10 round mags. Also you are probably not always going to be using ammo in the nice trays. There are great deals on bulk bucket ammo so once you have to take them from the bucket and put them in the tray for pick up your time savings are down the toilet.

I think you should get one of each but my bet is that you will agree with me after using then both.

I have the ETS I bought it from FOC

I like it a lot, it took a little practice to get used to and learn how to use it without any rounds hanging up in it, and a little lube where the case rims slide every now and then really helps with smoothnes. When I use it properly with a little lube it is the fastest method I can use to load from the plastic trays. I like to load 5 mags at a time for any pistol I shoot, and I personally always shoot factory 9mm out of the plastic trays so it works really well for me to quickly load 50 rounds into 5 magazines.

I see one Canadian store has them in stock, but at the highest price Ive seen @ $52.99
