Just got this in from a Facebook fan who attended the European IPSC championships; thanx to EB for the update-

'During ERC2015 last week – European Rifle Championship in IPSC in Hungary – Kalashnikov was the main sponsor.

They had a Saiga 107, or “AK-15” as they call it, and a test firing range. A great way for Kalashnikov to get direct feedback from the world’s best shooters in their R&D.

The 107 was a prototype but seemed pretty close to production. It’s focus is competition rather than army.

My impression is that the rifle shoots very flat with low recoil, however on double taps it moves to the left. From A to C-D zone at 15 meters.
The reason for this, according to Vladimir Onokoy, was that the compensator had 4 holes on the right side and only 3 on the left and the more powerful
European ammunition (Sellior & Bellot 55 grs. in this case) makes the rifle move.
The compensator is still in R&D too.

The rifle featured a 16” free floating barrel. Stock is CAA. Sight: C More red dot.

The rifle’s main disadvantage is the high sight line. According to what I heard they will put a riser on the stock, but this is not the right way to solve a problem in my opinion.

I’m not good enough to describe the internals of this rifle, but I asked him to open it and it’s obviously a lot more complex than a standard AK or AR for that matter.'

Dirty Communists copying innovation from Capitalist societies, just like they've been doing from day 1.

Hope the production version gets visually "cleaned up" a whole bunch.........that looks like a drunk weekend project made from scraps and a few machined parts.

Keymod sucks compared to Mlok. At least they are trying to be modern in design, but fall short with the "C-less" optic.

I was was on Youtube yesterday watching a short video on the Russians attacking some terrorists in Dagestan in a valley and they where hammering them with everything but there where two designated marksman working and one of them clearly had a AR10 Knights style rifle and the other an Accuracy International looking Bolt gun. I guess they are finally figuring out if you want accuracy best ditch the AK.--Dieseldog!

They are hk mr308 and russian sv98 with S&B scope .

What is your reasoning behind that comment? Why do you prefer one to the other?

A quote from M4C.net.

M-LOK is backwards compatible with MOE accessories and is more versatile and easier to manufacture than either MOE slots or Keymod.

M-LOK just updates the MOE standard with a TDP that is open to all manufactures and was designed from the outset to be utilized on metal, polymer or carbon fiber mounting surfaces.

Here are a few M-LOK advantages over Keymod off the top of my head

M-LOK works over a wider material thickness range than Keymod.
M-LOK uses a flat nut that is suitable for polymer, metal and carbon fiber mounting surfaces.
M-LOK is a true direct attach system so a line of accessories mounted next to each other do not need to be slid off to remove just one piece.
M-LOK has better recoil/impact support than Keymod.
M-LOK uses a larger bolt and has greater direct surface contact than Keymod resulting is greater pull out strength (a single MLOK mount exceeds 300 lbs in all materials)
M-LOK accessories are multi directional (can be mounted forward or backwards).
M-LOK has a uniform internal edge that can be generously chamfered allowing a better feel on the hand than Keymods 45 degree under cuts.
M-LOK can use any of the millions of MOE accessories already fielded via an adapter plate.
M-LOK slots are much lower cost to manufacture than Keymod resulting in lower cost to consumers.
M-LOK nuts are much lower cost to manufacture than Keymod resulting in lower cost to consumers.
M-LOK bolts are commonly available (user replaceable) and allow more torque to be applied than Keymod.
M-LOK slots requires no special CNC cutters or complex injection molds to manufacture an undercut like Keymod resulting in lower cost to consumers.

Keymod does allow for a slightly lower QD mount than MLOK and is almost flush on the inside of the tube (that might affect those mounting suppressors internally within a small freefloat handguard)

Food for thought.

Pretty much this.

Also why .223 ?? (for targets or something)

5.45 or 7.62 was too hard or something ?

it was probably supposed to be for a western market, but now because of ukraine the russians can forget about that!

at least they had enough self respect not to label it 5.56 nato!

"M-LOK uses a flat nut that is suitable for polymer, metal and carbon fiber mounting surfaces."

There's already polymer KM handguard made by B5.

"M-LOK accessories are multi directional (can be mounted forward or backwards)."

KM already has reverse mountable accessories.

"M-LOK is a true direct attach system so a line of accessories mounted next to each other do not need to be slid off to remove just one piece."

Please provide a real world example that you need to do this. I have a VG, flashlight mount and there's no need to mount them next to each other.
