Even the Russians are going Keymod

"M-LOK uses a flat nut that is suitable for polymer, metal and carbon fiber mounting surfaces."

There's already polymer KM handguard made by B5.

"M-LOK accessories are multi directional (can be mounted forward or backwards)."

KM already has reverse mountable accessories.

"M-LOK is a true direct attach system so a line of accessories mounted next to each other do not need to be slid off to remove just one piece."

Please provide a real world example that you need to do this. I have a VG, flashlight mount and there's no need to mount them next to each other.

The quote is a year old. The advantages and reduced cost for MLOK make it a superior choice. Having to slide attachments is an unnecessary action that has been eliminated with the MLOK design. Your example of not needing this feature is yours and is not indicative of what others may require. The list of advantages is long and you've addressed only a few. Keymod is unique but it is inferior to MLOK on many levels, to ignore the other attributes listed above is a foolish gesture.

It's very inferior hence why crappy companies like KAC and DD are going KM. Not to mention both HK & AI use a very similar keyhole design.

why would they design the compensator with more holes on one side?

to counteract the natural muzzle rise to the right that right hand shooters experience and vise versa with left handed shooters,
some breaks like the surefire procomp and mb556k have pilot holes for customization of this very concept

KAC and DD are great brands, but it doesn't mean everything they make is the best. Let's not forget that KAC originally had the keymod lock slots pointing the wrong way.. Time for many here to get off the blind brand following and think for themselves.. Either way it's your choice and your money.

ETA: MLOK is adjustable for material thickness which makes it compatible with more than just Magpul products.

I was was on Youtube yesterday watching a short video on the Russians attacking some terrorists in Dagestan in a valley and they where hammering them with everything but there where two designated marksman working and one of them clearly had a AR10 Knights style rifle and the other an Accuracy International looking Bolt gun. I guess they are finally figuring out if you want accuracy best ditch the AK.--Dieseldog!

I saw that too, good footage. The semi's were HK 417 but the bolt rifles were indeed Accuracy International AWM's. Russian SF has them.

Geissele dumped Keymod in favour of M-Lok.

M-Lok has the main benefit of being easier to make, and easy to use with plastic furniture. A lot of the rail companies have been doing both Keymod and M-Lok handguards now, Daniel Defense and KAC both developed their Keymod handguards before M-Lok was released, so it made sense for them to continue.

With Magpul having so many furniture based accessories for M-Lok handguards, they'll be on the market for a while.

I think with time that M-Lok will continue to take over more of the market, until the next "In" thing comes along :p
