Most of the guns i have bought in the last 2 years have not made it to the range yet. i am in a sense, both a shooter and a collector, but to Firearms Canada, we are almost all of us classified as target shooters, and not that collector category, even though some of us have collector or buy/sell tendencies.
i do buy guns that with all good intentions and spending justifications, to shoot now or later
for me, it's constant work and need to just find the time, not just at the range, but dammit, have to clean them afterwards, and the reloading.
i don't have the same rush and excitement to go to the range immediately with a new gun, like in my younger days, tried most everything, but almost all guns bought will at some point get sighted in, check for functioning, various loads, tested, etc. and then spend the same amount of time cleaning, oiling, then back on its throne in the safe till the next time.
embarassed to saying how my hunting habits have deteriorated last few years, down to arm chair (not hunting) but harvesting is more accurate, wild boars and elk from farm ops.... sad but true.
ps. the only similarity between guns and condoms, is that "it is better to have it and not need it", than "to need it and not have it", and quantity should not be the issue! lol
