Too often we hear only about poor service or negative experiences from manufacturers and suppliers. This note is to recognize some excellent service I recently received from Nikon USA. I purchased a Monarch 2-7x32 in 2006 from Cabelas in Phoenix. Last year something failed internally causing a loss of focus, anything past 50 yards and above 2x was blurred. I sent the scope to Nikon USA for evaluation although I couldn't prove date of purchase or if I was the original purchaser. It took about 5 weeks to final resolution but last week I received a new Monarch III 2-8x32 as a no cost warranty replacement. While there are those out there who will likely step out with the "shoulda bought a ###x", anything mechanical can and will fail. I'm appreciative that Nikon stands behind their products. I've owned and used Nikon products for years and this is the first failure of any sort that I'm aware of and would recommend them anytime. Cheers.

Are you in Canada? bought a scope in the U.S.A., brought to Canada, sent back to U.S.A. for repair, and they sent you a new scope back to Canada? Not being a jerk , i,m on my way south and just wondering about all the legality, headaches. Sold my 3 nikons when I saw U.S. lifetime warranties and 25 year Canadian warranty for same scopes in Cabellas catalogues.

The hassles of bringing a scope across the border weren't what they are now and I wouldn't do it now. It took a while but at the end of the day Nikon stood behind their product and I that's what I was trying to convey.
