I would just like to post having picked up my SKS this week, when the mag was pinned to 5 rounds the follower was unable to pivot correctly causing round to point down rather than up towards the chamber. This would have resulted in stove piped rounds and no feeding at all. The folks down at Hi-cal tried to correct the issue when that failed, they replaced the mag assembly for me. No fuss no need to whine and cry, the work was done quickly and verified before I left the shop. I would say total working time 20 minutes. Just to add as I bought the SKS there no charge either. They have offered to replace the entire rifle if there are still issues but as everything else is tight and good, I am happy with just a mag change.
