Hey guys, (this would be for a 10/22 semi-auto)

I'm looking at two types of Winchester; a box of:
1) "Winchester 333": the white box, 36gr. 1280fps, hollow point ($23 for 333rnds) -- Model# 22LR333HP
2) "Winchester Super X": grey box, 36gr. 1280fps, hollow point ($60 for 500rnds) [it's in a 'limited edition' wooden box, fyi - not that I care] -- Model# X22LR500WB

Checkin'em out, the cartridges seem the exact same. Same weight, same stamp on cartridge, same fps, both copper plated hollow point. I mean they look identical. Super X says "high velocity" but it's the same as the "333/555" fps.

Can someone chime in on any differences they know of, factual or perceived please - either :)
I've heard mixed reviews on Winny in general, especially the 333. Also wondering if I should pass on the Super X.

NEXT, There is three Aguila types available (no HP's unfortunately), I only picked up the "

1) "Aguila SuperExtra L.R. Standard Velocity, 40gr. ??fps, LRN, ($6.50 for 50rnds) -- M# ?? [just noticed given wrong item:confused:]
2) "Aguila SuperExtra L.R. Subsonic Solid Point, 40gr. ??fps, ($6.50 for 50rnds) -- M# ??
3) "Aguila SuperExtra L.R. High Velocity, copper plated, 40gr. ??fps, ($6.50 for 50rnds) -- M# ??

Heard good stuff about man Aguila cartridges; I wanted the High velocity HP's but they don't got'em. The package says ELEY PRIME - does ELEY make'em I wonder - they're "made in mexico".

(note: I think the standard velocity costs $7.50, price mixup. I'll look for info on website)

PS: anywhere have any CCI mini-mag HP's in stock? lol.

Thanks.

Tried the Aguila SuperExtra L.R. High Velocity, copper plated today in a Standard 10/22 stainless synthetic at 100 and it was great, very small groups.

The Aguila SuperExtra L.R. Standard Velocity, 40gr. was a close second and usable no FF's or ejection issues cycled perfectly.

Would buy this ammo again...

An ammo factory makes ammo as best as it can. Each batch gets a lot#. If it tests well, it goes as premium name at premium price. If it is poor, it goes as cheap bulk ammo. So "Super match" "Rifle Match" "Pistol Match" "Stnd Vel" and "El Cheapo Bulk" might be the identical ammo, except some lot numbers are bbtter than others.

So you can have ammo that looks identical, but comes out of different boxes.

My gsg 1911 .22 loves the cheap win 235/333/555. Most of my other guns didnt.
The Aguila HV functions flawlessly in my GSG 1911, the standard had some FTF but i need to polish the slide rails.

Nice. I wish they had all the other round types available; the hollow points and other stuff. Good to know though.

I used to buy Aguila SE at Canadian Tire decades ago, who is selling them now?

Canadian tire.

That's lame.
Still, not payin' $60 for bulk 'super x' when federal champ is half the price for an extra 25rnds too, "special edition wooden box" or not. lol.

Aguila, before the earthquake destroyed the original plant, was my goto ammo back in the day.

Wow. When was that? I wonder if they're just gettin' back on track and that's why I see it coming in now. Also, I wonder what the "eley prime" is about...is that the actual "manufacturer" or something...? Hmm.

Tried the subsonics?

Thanks for the responses.
Would you all put CCI (AP tactical) high up on the ladder of quality?
