Hello to all you black rifle enthusiasts. I usually frequent the rimfire area, but this JR carbine intrigues me enough to think about purchasing one. I've read up on some of the early production troubles it was having, and was woundering if these problems had been worked out? I would be interested in hearing accuracy reports and favorite loads for it. I get the general consensus that most are very happy with its performance if not for the early production issues. What is the maximum range with a 9mm and 40S&W for this carbine. What are your optics setups?

Great little gun, lots of fun to shoot. Mine needed locktite applied to a few screws at first, but function has always been 100% (I think maybe 3 FTFeeds in the first couple hundred rounds, zero since then). It's the round barrel version. It is less compact than my Beretta Storm and slightly less accurate, but has a noticeably better trigger than the Storm. Currently wears a Holosight, easy 1.5-inch groups @ 50 yards with some flavours of gunshow reloads. More like 4 inches @ 100. I have smoked a very foolish coyote sitting exactly at 100 yards on my range. Maximum range? I guess that depends on what you want the bullet to be capable of doing when it gets there.

If I could only keep one, JR or Storm, I'm not sure which way I would go.

With the relatively short range of a pistol cartridge I just put a red dot on mine. Shoots well enough but this was my first pistol cartridge gun and severaly dissapointed in cartridge performance

id have to say i love mine. Had to swap in the updated buffer when i first got her. She runs like a champ. just rolled past the 1000 round mark this afternoon. Im not sure what some people expect from any of the caliber options offered with this platform, but im far from dissapointed in mine, or the 9mm.

Thanks for all the information. I also had no idea about the Thureon Defense, also looks like a nice sub. The threads were a very interesting read. I was thinking about a red dot for it, I guess the scope is like putting monster truck wheels on a civic.

As far as the Keltec, not very interested in it. The cheek weld looks non-existent, and I'd worry about that reciprocating bolt handle operating so close to me. Also the polymer is not very flattering.

I believe P&D, Epps and others have stock.

I have the Thureon and put a red dot on it (cheapy ebay one). I really like it as long as I'm not shooting beyond 50m. Past 50m I wouldn't mind a 2X or 4X. I've been kicking around purchasing a lucid with the 2x screw on.

I do agree about the Keltec, but I wanted to be fair. That way you know everything that outs there.
