Export firearms to Europe

Which country in Europe are we talking about. Perhaps I can help with a contact.
It’s really quite straight forward.
Permanent or just for a hunt ?

I'm in the same boat - I'll need to export a few of my guns to Europe (Slovakia) and I am also a FAC holder there. I'm not familiar with the entire process but I prefer to do it myself and get all the required documentation to allow the export of my rifles. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it possible to export bullets and brass I have accumulated for reloading over the years which are very hard to obtain and a lot more expensive in Europe? Gun powder is probably out of the question or would be very expensive to ship or maybe not?

Will you take them in your luggage or ship? Finding a route is one of the harder parts, many airlines either don't take guns or make it prohibitive.
Can _you_ possess guns in Slovakia and apply for an import permit yourself or do you need to engage an importer? I've had stuff _from_ Slovakia and ended up trans-shipping through Czech Republic, it was that much of a mess (and still is).

Figure these two parts out and the rest is easy (Canadian export permit)

Yes, I have a firearm license (Slovak zbrojny preukaz) and was thinking about taking couple of guns with me on the airplane, properly locked up in approved hard gun case, with Canadian export permit! I believe I need to apply for European firearm license to allow transfer from other countries within EU (most likely landing in Vienna) and than travel to Slovakia where I’m planning on registering them under my name and my valid firearm license. It sounds pretty straightforward to me but I’m just being cautious since a lot of things changed recently ……. I’d really appreciate if anybody else would share their experience or knowledge on this.

more transport than transfer. despite having the european firearm license (i had one for many years mine was 5 years of lifetime and now expired) to use your european license you need to have your firearms written on it: barrel lenght, make, caliber and the category or class (not every eu state allow the same kind to be on their territory even for transit).

best way is to import it to slovakia then input on the card doing differently may have the authority thinking you re trying to bypass their rules ...

A few years ago I just mailed a non restricted rifle to Switzerland. Twice... The recipient told me it was fine to do that. I was paid up front and everyone is happy.

I believe you should check with the receiving country to see what they require...

Who did you use as your shipping carrier? After a bit of researching, I believe all I need here is the Canadian export permit and then register it under my name in Slovakia. I’m still not sure what it takes when transferring between countries within EU, but there must be a way.

Can't help with intra-european stuff, but you will need to demonstrate to Foreign Affairs that you can legally possess in Croatia for the Canadian export permit. At minimum an excerpt from the law and your license (translated to English or French). If you get stuck with the export permit, feel free to reach out, done those a number of times :)

a shame but swizterland is not part of eu ...

DHL is no go for any shipments out of Canada (or into) - not licensed as a carrier by the RCMP (the list is public). Last checked with them in April just in case because they ship from US.

we used air canada but that was few years ago. when i tried to the drilling of my late father from france the exporting from europe was so complicated that i gave up: seems importing is a little easier but some countries will request a CIP proofing.

Air Canada is great, but they really cut down on the number of flights. They mainly fly cargo into Frankfurt and take it by truck from there... and they won't take guns that way. Almost 100% sure there are no flights to Slovakia... but if he takes it in checked in luggage, might get through even on a code share flight.
