Exporting Ammunition.

Hi all;

Just wondering if anyone knows of an efficient/easy way to export ammunition to the US for IPSC matches. The amount of ammo needed is WAY more than the airlines allow me to travel with (5kg). I am looking to ship 1000 rounds to Florida for US IPSC Nationals. Total weight would be approx 12.5kg.

Easier answer my be to drive - as I am not sure if the Form6 will allow separate shipping. Shipping ammo is always a friggen nightmare -- may be easier to arrange to have ammo shipped from in the US to your hotel. I used to do that a lot for classes when I lived in Canada and was taking courses in the US.
 
you need a permit to transport your pistols into the US, the same paperwork is needed for ammo. I just shot a match in the states two weeks ago and I brought 1000 with me.
Paperwork is good for 1 year, then you contact your CFO and you will get and ATT for all border crossings and airports.
 
It is not always an option but maybe for the IPSC Nationals there will be match ammo available?

Driving is best but Florida is a very long way from Edmonton.
