So, does anybody have an official link to a website or document that covers these items ???

I was thinking of bringing some reloading tools and empty brass in from the U.S.
There is a very minute possiblity, but I was thinking of some bullets....not cartridges....just bullets, and primers as well.

From reading on here for the past few years, the primers are out if I recall correctly, but I can't remember about bullets, empty brass and reloading equipment.

I'd like a link to a website if possible. As great a resource as Gunnutz is, we don't make the laws....we just give our take on them. I'd like to read it for myself.

Thanks guys....

No brass, powder, primers, bullets Ie projectiles can be exported from the usa without permits, no optics either.

You can take hand loading machines and tools without permits

Up until last year I was still getting my brass directly from Starline. As long as the order was LESS than $100 US no export permit was required.

Was I in the wrong by ordering...or has something changed recently?

Don't know all the quirks of the past but the law is now zero limit on anything ammo or component.

Not trying to discourage you but Dept of State is now charging EVERY license with a $250US fee. How that works out with your supplier is open to debate but I have not seen any exporter not pass that fee on.

You would need to be buying a whole whack of stuff to justify that added cost.

Especially, as you will face daily limits on powder and primers by CDN customs.

I was doing the same thing from Sinclair, there was a brief window there where we could do this legally, that window has been closed and bars have been put in front of the Glass. FS

ITAR has been around since the early 1990's it only has been enforced since post 9/11

Shot and hulls are governed under the ITAR so no you can't.

I know myself any mystic are working very hard to fill the gaps when it comes to things that are hard to find or not stocked at your local shooting sports store.

There is only so much we can do... we both have limited cash to put out on products and we are often slowed down by paperwork and rules that really don't make much sense.

We are doing our best. Its up to the shooting community to support us... I don't know how many times I hear oh I can get this from the states landed to my door cheaper... its that kind of attitude thats got us in the mess to begin with.

We all have to do our part to promote our sport and keep it going.

What a lot of people don't realize is yes Canada customs says you can bring in 5000 primers from outside the country its basically illegal for a person in the states to sell you them without and import permit, which then they are required to get an export permit... alot of the things are perfectly legal in Canada to be in possession of but not when your on the other side of the boarder... once your in Canada there isn't a lot the Americans can do other then Canada customs wont let you into the country and then your forced to go back to the states where the authorities are waiting to charge you and the person that sold you the items without proper permits.
