extra lenght firing pin

hello,
my sw 625 was tune ( trigger pull lighten) and had some misfire (light hit) when using ww primers,with federal its running perfect. thinking of installing extra lenght firing pin made by cylinder/slide. to accomodate both brand of primers and still get reliable ignition but light trigger pull, any comments is highly appreciated. thanks

All too often, people back off the mainspring strain screw as a means of reducing trigger pull on S&W revolvers. This is a half assed way of doing things and invites misfires. The strain screw should be turned all the way in. Tuning should consist of improving fit and finish to achieve a better pull and not reducing reliability. Regards, Bill.

Installing a softer spring will also improve trigger pull, especially DA pull. This, of course, results in lighter firing pin hits.
Like Bill said, make sure your strain screw is in all the way. I've never heard of a longer firing pin before. I'd worry about it not withdrawing fully and binding-up the cylinder.

The extra length firing pin is meant to be reshaped and fitted to the revolver. It's not use as a measure for misfires.

I, now only use the factory spring but change the rebound spring, this eliminates any misfires.

Using the Wolfe etc. light spring, you have to use Federal primers.
