Extractor change on a mosin. Does this affect headspace?

So, I changed the extractor on my mosin a while back. It doesnt exactly sit flush at the back of the bolt head but the bolt closes on a round.

Does this affect the safety of the firearm in any way? I dont have access to gauges and none of my local gundocs do either.

The only bolt component that affects headspace is the bolt head.

Did you properly install the new extractor? It should fit flush.

I would not be worried about headspace on MN as rimmed cartridge system is most forgiving. So provided bolt head was put at the arsenal you're good. But it does not sound right when extractor is not flush.
