My supply of H-335 is nearly gone, and I was concidering trying Varget. Problem is I use a 1050. Has anyone used Varget in a 650 or 1050 successfully? The H-335 flows like water and is very consistant. I'd consider Varget as it's in the same ballpark with .223 and it's got a reputation for less temperature sensitivity. All of which is pointless if it's going to bridge in the powder measure and lead to greater charge variations.

Hi Canuck I have a Dillon 550 and use Varget = stopped the kernels are pretty big and it would throw out. Just my experience. I would stick with h335 I use both - I use varget only through my electronic powder trickler.
YMMV

Varget

I only use Varget in my manual loader, started last year, nice powder, but I think it is a little large for the Dillon.
Take care out there.

I use Varget in a 550 as well. It seems to throw proper charges for me. When loading .308 match rounds I throw a charge, then weigh it to verify its weight. Most loads were right on the money and there were very little I had to add or take away. All my loads were measured with a dillon electronic scale.

Once you start using the longer extruded powders like IMR4064 I begin to have problems, but I am confident that Varget meters fairly well with my setup.
