Newish to shooting, looking to go on some hunting trips soon but not sure where to get good prescription safety glasses or what kind of hearing protection would be reliable and warm.

If anyone has some pointers it'd be much appreciated

Hey WW! I have bought most forms of hearing protection but in my opinion, Sordin with the gel cups are the BEST. They keep you warm and are very comfortable and a real advantage hunting. The sound quality is really impressive and allows you hearing much farther and much clearer than anything else. Only drawback is the price but

Thanks, sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, much appreciated!

Great suggestion from Dmay on the glasses. Randolph is another option that does perscription with either lenses or a carrier that allows changing different colour lenses while your perscription remains in the frame of the glasses.

If we're talking specifically for hunting I would use cheap silicone earbuds since you probably won't be vulnerable to multiple firings. They're also light, easy to pack, and fit nicely under a toque, lol.

I use surefire sonic defenders in the same way while hunting, i can have them half way in under a toque and just nudge them in the rest of the way when i need them. Much less bulky than muffs or bigger around the neck types.

At the range though a good expanding foam plug and/or muffs.

I have isotunes Defy Slim for the range so I can hear what is going on around me and have conversations (and I love them for that) but they are no good for hunting. I can't tell which direction sounds are coming from and the lightest sound of my fleece on a tree is loud. I find simple plugs under my toque to be the best for hunting.
