Just for fun, today I shot off of a front bag instead of my usual Harris bi-pod, I shot very well for me and now I've been spoiled and don't want to go back to the Harris. Since I can't use a bag in F-restricted, are there any restrictions to bi-pod design? For example, pads as feet? Minimum height? Min-Max width? etc... Thanks.

Here is the bipod I use for F-Class:

Henry Remple from Calgary makes them. They run around the $400+ mark.

There is also an article at http://accurateshooter.wordpress.com/2008/11/27/canadian-ski-bipod-for-f-class-shooters/ that features more info and some of my previous pictures of the bipod.

"The Restricted rifle class is limited to the use of an attached bipod and/or a sling as front supports, optionally together with a rear bag which provides no positive mechanical means of returning the rifle to its precise point of aim for the next shot . The overall weight must not exceed 8.25kg including all attachments (such as, but not limited to, its sights and bipod, if any). NB: An ‘attachment’
is defined as in Rule F2.2. All other Technical Rules apply."

Remple pod. Use that and you will never use another bipod again.

Works as well as the pedestal rest. Pge 4 on the above link spells it all out really nicely.

I must be too old fashion cause I am saddened by the "loss" of F/F with Restricted taking its place. A set of rules pretty much set forth by those to our south.

I just hope that the sport doesn't forget it started in Canada.

FR is in addition to FTR Jerry, BC has decided to only adopt the FR as a means of simplifying things. FTR is still very much alive, in fact it is the fastest growing segment of F-Class. ICFRA has not officially adopted the specs for Farky class in their rules, but it is coming. Don't worry, it is FAR from dead!
