A windy day here just 35 km east winds, but i decided to try mine for the first time with, Nosler Brass, and 140s. The lands was quite easy to touch with a 3.075 contact COL with 140 gr SMKS shooting at 100 m.

The winning load was found 10 rounds after the a barrel cleaning break in shot .6s and than jumped to .4s and one in the .3s.
That load was 20th off the lands COL with 140 SMK@ 48.0 gr H-4350 powder and CCI benchrest primers, right at the loadéVelocity it should be.

RL-22 was a complete flopp over 1 moa and H 4831 SC was good but not as good as 4350

I like the rifle and i expect good things from mine.

I swore i would not buy another Savage target rifle but I am glad i did , it sure made aware how these things can shoot, and it ALMOST makes me forget of a few bad savages i had that were not that good.

I am not sure if i got one of the new batch ones with the short throats but I am happy with her.

The nice thing aboput the stock design is it is very easy to get behind trigger is nice and crisp at 6 oz as adverized, and the lenghts are good for me, likely one of the best factory target rifles i have got behind.

I have ordered another in the 6mm BR.

WHAT! An inaccurate Savage?! That's blasphemy!...

LOL! before I owned this gun I was begining to wonder my self.

I have owned savages in 22-250 that shot very reasonable you know the varmint kind .75 to 1 moa , had TWO (2) 10 Fps that were dogs, 1 incher plus Had a good buddy that bought an 7mm HB fp style that would not shoot at all even for hunting, so ya I was a bit nervous myself, but really this gun I shot today, I loaded very limited rounds for barrel break in and only shot 5 groups of 5 for accuracy. Also have a ell cheepo 11 F that shoots 1.0 to 1.5 moa for 3 shots in 300 wsm thats good enough for why i bought it, as a boat gun on moose guns.

I want to really fool with load development and seating depths, and I am sure it will be an honest .75 to .5 Moa gun at 100 yards.

I can only say that about a few rifles I own and they are 6mm and 22 ppc chamberings.

When I can shoot 25 rounds into 1 inch on one target I will only call it a sub moa gun. I cam dam close today but I had only 3 sets of five left after barrel break in of H-4350 , 2 sets of H 4831 SC and 2 of RL-22.

So my group size was effected in general.

I did have 15 rounds inside one inch from my 4350 however, this excites me because its the performance and predictability I look for in a rifle.

The nice thing is 40 rounds down the pipe, the barrel is all ready coming into its own harmonic zone, and I really belive this rifle is showing some promising things, accuracy like my 6mm ppcs at 100 yards when thier barrels where coming into the zone. Very nice rifling clean and has no drag zones or rough areas.

Cheers

These rifles are for real guys! Lets see what they do in F class comps

I didn't get as many in the same hole as you but I did get .600 at 200 yards with RL 19. I need to go out again this week and dial it in as Borden is quickly approaching.

I will try and get some pic's.

We can compare notes on the 6 BR as mine has been on order for a bit.:)

Jason,
and the caliber is?
I guess something 6.5, maybe x284?

God Luck with Savage ;)

Hey Peter how are you doing.

Peter I bought both the 6mm BR and the 6.5x284 for long range shooting, so far have only shot the 6.5x284 the 6br came in this week waiting for optics, but may throw a cheepy on tomorrow just to try it out.

The F-clas is only made in the 2 calibers.

Both are doing very well at 1000m
