Anyone ever scope one of these bewglers?
Ended up with one with a bad case of shingles.
Horribly rusted and I thought it is lucky to be a parts gun.

Some tlc (few reebs) and the shingles are now scabs.
Bore is fabewluzz and the mechaniks are good'n tight.
Glued up the rear stock and hadder out.

Crappy shewt'in eye, but I still managed to hit where I aimed.

Thinking the old gal isn't werth much, I'd get it so I can yewser.
Have a few old Leupolds that would specktacurryally spectacull this pump.

Dear Lawrd, wtf have I gartzs meself into.
NO MO BUYING...................................................:pirate:
And the pile grows.

Looking for ideas and or photos of your mods.

Looky, not sure I'd tape and drill the receiver for a scope !!!
Think I'd just clean it up a bit and make her purdy.

Bottom one had a few ftf...have you experienced that yet?

No ftf.
FTS is my problemo.
Fail to see.

Every time I sell one of these I regretted dewn so.

This one is mechanically fine.
Just suffered some bad storage, hence the acme.

Thinking of glassing it and yewse'in her.

That bird shot chit sounds like a .410 bust'in lewse.
Bottom right 590 fps ammo is quiet.
Remarkably quiet.
Lesser noize than an air gun.

Glass izz good.

You can drill and tap two holes (6 x 48) on top and use a one piece base... it will work just fine. If done properly collectible value really won't be affected... it isn't in a serious collectors range now.

Any idea Dennis of what I need for a base?

There is a new one here for a Browning SA with the step in it.
The unstepped portion (small end) fits the top of the Trombone perfectly.
Might not be worth milling it down to match the rest.

These little shooters sure work well.
No hiccups on the action.

I shot a trombone for years as a kid... I could shoot several gophers before my buddy could get his Cooey 60 un-jammed.

I always used Brownell's .22 dovetail blank base... it's about 12 inches and no holes in it... Available with a flat base or about a .900" radius. Cut it to length and drill your holes...

Or I would guess the same base as for a 10-22 might work or a Win 88/100 base...

Only 2 holes are needed...

How about a peep sight? Skinner has them, or else tap in a 10/22 sight with a peep insert, I may have a spare I could send ya. Dunno, I never like seeing glass on old .22s myself. Looks like an oil bath would be worthwhile and some 0000 steel wool to knock down the high spots. If your interested in a sight PM me I can look through my parts.

I sure appreciate the offer IanC.
Don't think I can do very well with a peep on it.
This FN was almost rusted shut.
I don't see any collector value in it and every time I sell one of these in my possession I gift meself chit.
Glass is the only thing that works for me now.

Thanks.

Found a Weaver 93 that should dew the trick.
Now where did I pewt that wee bag awf screws?

Deer Lawrd...............:sok2

Kuldn't reezist.
That's me story and I'm stink'in tew it.

You might try CCI high velocity short hollow points. More or less same trajectory as LR and you can fit 15 in the tube. You can also make a speed loader from plastic tubing and old pistol brass to cap the ends.

Bawrill is stamped “L”
Will gifter ahh wherl next time out.

Most Trombone marked .22 L accept shorts, longs and long rifle.

A very few are marked .22 short (.22 Corto) or 22 Short Smokeless.

The very early rifles are marked "FL .22 C" and accept shorts, longs and long rifle.
