Was wondering if anyone has one and if they are reliable / repeatable for mounting an RD sight on my 11.5" CSA.

I also would like to know if it is possible to use only the top half with the OEM lower (not too keen on a railed lower handguard).

Thanks,

The FAB Defense upper handguard utilizes the metal insert/heat shielding, of the existing barf-wood OEM handguard. Although technically it would not have the same strctural integrity as a one piece unit like the NEA upper handguard, it is still very secure and has held zero for me. There are anti-rotational tabs (circled in blue) that prevent the polymer handguard from shifting.

As for fitting to the OEM lower handguard, I'm not sure as it has tabs (circled in red) that protrude into the FAB Defense lower. However, 10 seconds with a grinder would remove them.

Overall, not a bad piece of kit that is economically priced.

dont think it would fit to well as the tabs on the top handguard wouldnt have any place to sit into but could be wrong
