Fab defence

For the guys that have fab defence on there 858's what do you think of the product? I read a few reviews saying the forend is plastic and no good if you want to mount optics on it. I'm debating going full fab defence or mixing products.

Word alone cannot describe the awesomeness of the FAB system on an 858.

Mine came with it and it works ok but its not an ideal set up for optics and about
1 million from milspec. I won't be replacing mine until it fails.

Though its not the best option out there it does work. The lower fits nice and tight and the upper fits very tightyl onto it with 4 tabs that help keep it aligned. There is a large flat surface where both parts meet, unless they fit loose they will usually hold zero ok, but not return to zero after removal. The lower also extends over the handguard ferrule so you can burn yourself if you accidentally move your hand up too far. For the price they are worth it.
