Does anyone have any information on the history and production of these shotguns?

I know they were manufactured by Heckler & Koch and built in Germany.

Are there many around and how much are they?

Just want to know if they are still being producing Imperators 14 inch barrel shotguns, and how much they would be.
 
They are still being made. No longer imported by HK in the US, the company is TriStar Sporting Arms, Ltd. Not that it matters to us in Canada though, the Fabarm line is available from www.theshootingedge.com They range in price from $599 -999 depending on models for the pump actions.

What it is now is the "Martial" line that have the 14" barrels. I have a martial "pro forces" and it is the finest shotgun I've ever owned. :D

That is one fine looking shotgun. Shooting Edge is here in Canada? What about Tri Star?

Is there any difference in the German made and the Italian made?
 
They were never German made. Fabarm is an Italian company, HK brought them in and they were import marked by HK. They also may have had different marking on the receiver "FP6".

If you want a 14" model you're only option would be to buy in Canada. There is no way you'd get a 14" barreled shotgun imported in the US as they are highly controlled ie not legal without hoops and hoops.

I to have a Fabarm Martial Pro Forces. It is a sweet shotgun and I don't think there are many off the self guns that can compare. I think it was a great purchase and have had no problem thus far. The Shooting Edge are top shelf and great to deal with. They treated me great. I did have a small warranty issue but it was corrected imediatley (within 2 days) by redleg at the Shooting Edge. Fast shipping, good people, great gun: you can't go wrong.
