Hello,

I am looking for info and reviews on this weapon. The Fabarm catalogue is pretty but not very informative. Can anyone tell me the following;

- length of pull
- overall length
- weight
- magazine capacity

Is this little guy worth the money? I have two 870's so any comparison to them would be of assistance.

Thanks,

i recently got an sdass so, different but similar,

brilliantly easy disassembly for cleaning, light quick handling, lighter barrel than rem.

overall very nice, very ergonomic.

does not feel like it could take the abuse a remington could though, just not as heavy duty.

I like my Martial Comp with 14" barrel. I bought it before I had an 870, and overall I do prefer the 870. More robust and it just has more of a solid feel to it. 870 also seems to reload smoother as well as feel more comfortable for me to shoot.

I bought my Fabarm when they were pretty new in Canada and I paid 800 or so. Way too much, I think the standard model is $599 now. Bang for buck, Remington all the way, and in my experience it's damn near impossible to get any parts at ALL for the thing unless it's through TSE.

Good: Looks great, shoots well, and the rubber on the shoulder stock makes 3" slugs a joy to shoot.

Bad: I find it excessively heavy, the finish is rubbing off on my receiver because the super-long fore-grip takes it off when you rack it. I always have to push in the stupid pins that hold the trigger assembly in. They always creep out after a few rounds.

There is a very frustrating problem with it too; when your feeding the tube, if you let off pressure before it firmly 'clicks in' it flies back in behind the little ramp on the bottom. Not a problem for you and I as we know to wait for the click, but every single person I've ever given the gun to try has had this happen - without exception. You basically have to finger-bang it deep to secure in the shell. Way deeper than on my 870

OAL is 34", holds 5+1, don't know the weight or the trigger pull/creep which is heavier than I'd prefer.

The fabard is a very nice , smoth and light shotgun.
The recoil pad suck big timre and the long forend scratches the hell out of the gun( but they do offer and short for end)
but the pattening is very good, very nice looking gun and the finish is very nice.
Price is ok for what you get.
i have alot ofshotguns and i like the fabarms allmost as much as my m1 super 90

A lot of people like their 870's... that's good. After handling and shooting a few 870's and handling and shooting my Fabarm Martial Comp, I really can't say much good about the 870. The Fabarm however fits me perfect, has always fed and ejected (never had a problem feeding), cycles very smoothly (slick), is very well built and engineered, feels solid without being heavy, has the extended forearm for variable reach, is easy to disassemble and clean, looks great, and shoots straight. At $569 it is a bargain compared to an 870 and has 4 chokes available ($29 each) and you can add a picatinny rail for the reciever and under the forearm for another $29 each. I couldn't get an 870 in the configuration I wanted for even close to the price I paid... this is my new gun for deer and the upcoming turkey season, plus everyone likes her at the range...

The pics made me thing of childhood silliness in separating alu foil paper and sticking the sticky back alu foil paper on walls, toys, desks, etc

Thanks

I appreciate your input. I'm a little bummed out that the forend scratches the receiver. Strange that a company so famous for its centuries of shotgun making can't cure that problem. Thanks again,

I've been really happy with my fabarm. Comfortable to shoot, light to carry, reliable, smooth action, fun, looks great.

I haven't noticed much problem with it "scratching" the receiver. There are slight rub marks there, but I am definitely not concerned. You won't see them unless you look for them. I tried to take some pictures of the marks and they're probably more visible on the pictures than in real life. Besides, this gun is a keeper so I'm not worried about any resale. FYI I haven't counted rounds, but I'd estimate over 500.
