Fabarm STF-12

New to the forum, so I hope this is the correct place for my post.

I have a Fabarm STF-12 that has been primarily in the safe for the last few years. I recently noticed the rubberized parts (grip, stock etc) have become very sticky. Have been told that over molded parts eventually break down causing this condition.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

Were the parts subjected to chemicals of any kind, possibly a harsh cleaner before being put away?

Normally gun oils should not adversely affect rubber, as most modern rubbers are petroleum based.

It's off-gassed and irreparable, honestly surprised you didn't faint after opening the safe from that level of degradation. Normally I'd charge to have it safely removed, but I'm feeling generous so just ship it to me so you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Never put anything strong on the rubber. Only Ballistol to clean

Normally Ballistol is rubber safe, but there are some claims online about Ballistol softening rubber and making it gummy, depending on the type of rubber, especially among the airgun crowd (o-rings, seals).

I wonder if some was left on the rubber, and it took a year to alter the surface.
